An Advising practice that turns interests and strengths into a clear academic direction.

Why I Do This Work

Most of today’s parents were raised on a simple formula: go to college, pick a major, and trust that everything else will work itself out. Decades later, we’re seeing the cost of that formula. Crippling student loan debt, stalled careers, and young adults who feel uncertain instead of confident. I know this firsthand.

I chose a “safe” major in Psychology at Notre Dame of Maryland University without truly understanding where it could lead. After graduation, I joined the U.S. Air Force and became an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. On paper, I had done everything “right.” In reality, I realized the path I’d chosen did not match the life I actually wanted. That disconnect is what drives the work I do with families today.

Who I Am

’m Dr. Casey, a college and career strategist, researcher, and lifelong learner. My background spans psychology, business, higher education, and emerging technologies, because the world your student is entering is changing fast, and advice from 20 years ago simply isn’t enough.

My education includes a B.A. in Psychology (Notre Dame of Maryland University), an M.B.A. (Liberty University), a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration (Northeastern University), graduate certificates in Digital Media Marketing & Management and Artificial Intelligence (Northeastern), and I’m currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in College Advising (University of California, Los Angeles).

How I'm Different From Other Advisors

Unlike traditional college advisors who focus primarily on getting in, my work focuses on what happens after your student gets out. Instead of starting with test scores and essays, I start with direction: Who is your student? What kind of life do they want? Which majors and pathways actually lead to sustainable careers—and which don’t?

Parents hire Ask Dr. Casey because this isn’t theoretical. I’ve worked inside higher education, researched post-college outcomes, and seen how often families pay for degrees that don’t translate into meaningful opportunities.

My Promise to Your Family

My goal is simple: to help your student make thoughtful, informed decisions about college and career so your family can avoid unnecessary debt, regret, and “I’ll just figure it out later” at $30,000–$80,000 a year.

With Ask Dr. Casey, you get more than college admissions help. You get a partner who understands the system, connects with teens in a warm, encouraging way, and keeps her guidance rooted in real data, real experience, and real-world outcomes.
